Hello church, family, & friends -
In one week, myself & 16 other disciples from Covenant United Methodist Church will be on our way to Gonaïves, Haiti for our 2nd annual mission trip! The words to Tim Hughes' song, God of Justice have been running in my head all week...
He has indeed filled us up & is now sending us out! Amen!
I want to thank you for all your encouragement and help in our planning. So many of you have given so much already, but I have one more (not small) request from you: Daily, intentional prayers requesting God's favor on us on our trip. The work of God can only be accomplished by the power of God. "The prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective." ~ James 5:16
Below is a list of prayer items that I sent to the Haiti team. I covet your prayers & am asking you to please find time each day to lift us up to God until our return.
God of Justice, Savior to all

June 12 - Pray
that our team be the hands & feet of Jesus to whomever we encounter &
that ever deed, act, smile, word & service be rooted in love. ~I Corinthians 13:8
June 13 - Pray
that as we pack/prepare for our trip tomorrow that we will depend fully on God
& leave all worries & anxieties behind. ~Matthew 6:25-33
June 14 - Pray
for our safe journey & protection as we travel to Gonaïves… that we have no
problems with airline trip, customs, luggage & in-country transportation.
Also pray for our families’ peace & comfort while we are away. ~Psalm 121:8
June 15 - Pray
that His will, not ours, be done & that His name will be glorified through
our service. ~Psalm 86:12
June 16 - Pray
that a spiritual revival will spread & ignite the people of Tabernacle of
Christ Church and the people of Gonaïves, Haiti. ~Acts 4:21
June 17 - Pray
for good weather during our time in Haiti (as this is during their rainy
season). Pray that we will not be hindered by weather so that we may accomplish
the work God has set out before us. ~Proverbs
16:3
June 18 - Pray
for God’s protection on our health (a few of us had stomach problems last
year). Pray for good health for everyone so we can more effectively work in the
mission field. ~3 John 1:2
June 19 - Pray,
that as we approach the end of our time here, we will remain physically,
mentally, emotionally & spiritually strong. ~Philippians 1:6
June 20 - Pray
for the orphans, the pastor & the families of Tabernacle of Christ as well
as all the people we will serve during our time in Haiti. We want them to sense God’s favor on them
through our efforts & fellowship. ~Exodus
4:31
June 21 - Pray
for our safe travels home & that we will be able to “re-enter” into our
culture here at home, while not forgetting our Haitian friends, nor the many
things God taught us during our visit. ~Proverbs
3:23
June 22 - Pray
that God impacts us through the people of Haiti & pray that our team will
be made aware of His magnificent works so that we can come home & share
these with our church, families & loved ones. ~Romans 10:17
